PHILOMEL CREATIVE CIRCLE

NEWS

This Spring/Summer 2024, we’re excited to present our first season of Classical Concerts by Candlelight at St Cuthbert’s in Earl’s Court!

Thanks to everyone who joined us in March, April & May! Tickets are now available to book for our final concert:

Saturday 15 June Maurice Ravel & Fanny Mendelssohn

Please join us for this family-friendly programme, designed to feel relaxing and atmospheric. The running time is around 90 minutes (6pm – 7.30pm), including an interval, after which you’re welcome to stay and mingle with the performers over a glass of wine, or to head off and enjoy the rest of your Saturday evening.

About Us

Philomel Creative Circle is a consortium of classical musicians who are passionate about connecting with audiences, new and old, in a profound yet accessible way. We present concerts with ‘lecture’ elements, offering introductions to newbies at the same time as delighting seasoned concert-goers with creative programming, polished playing, and fun facts.

“Fantastic, world class performance!” Crick Audience member

We love to bring live performances into interesting spaces, as well as to establish communities of music-lovers in more traditional venues. We curate seasons for different ages and levels of experience. Since 2019, we have been in residence at the Francis Crick Institute and are proud to have presented 10 packed-out, well-received concerts there.

“Excellent performance. Wonderful programme. Such a treat to witness musicians at the top of their game. A great pleasure.” Crick Audience member

Our events feel intimate and open; we are particularly inspired by Leonard Bernstein’s pioneering concert-lectures and broadcasts, which made a profound contribution to popularising classical music in the Western World.

THANK YOU

We’d like to thank the teams at St Cuthbert’s Church and The Francis Crick Institute for hosting our concerts.
